This will allow you to view and select items from the comfort of your office or home without making the trip to crowded showrooms or home centers.

History
Independent Kitchen and Bath Inc. began as a designer and supplier of kitchen cabinets, appliances, countertops, sinks, faucets and all of the odds and ends required for a kitchen remodeling project. Our original clients were referred to us by their general contractors who wanted to be assured that they received the best possible service available. Since they specialized in urban apartments, townhouses, lofts and penthouses, they needed a firm familiar with all the unique requirements of this type of work. Our staff has a combined total of forty years of experience in this area and strives to provide the highest level of customer service in the industry. Recently we have expanded into the bath remodeling as well, and offer the same service and expertise for our client's plumbing needs.

Our Mission
We strive to provide all of our clients with a complete package that will help to make their remodeling project as stress free as possible. First and foremost we pledge the best and most personal customer service available from start to finish and for years to come. You'll know our staff and they will know you and your project. All calls are returned promptly and the hold button on our phone is mostly used to allow us to transfer your call to the proper person. Our success depends wholly upon your referral. How did you get to us?

The Process
One of our designers will meet with you to view and measure your existing space. We will discuss the possibilities and listen carefully to your ideas and requirements. Many clients have done some homework and have several photos of kitchens from a magazine that has caught their attention. We can work from this or show you photos of our completed jobs and some of the offerings in our brochures. All of the components of a kitchen will be covered -- cabinets, appliances, sink, faucets, countertop surfaces, backsplashes, knobs and floor coverings. Your budget will be taken into consideration and we will find you the products that will fit.

The next step can be done two different ways. We can take all the information received on the initial consultation, design your kitchen on our computer program and E-mail the full color rendering for your approval. You can make any changes you want at this point or view the prospective kitchen in different colors. Upon approval, we can begin to quote you a complete price, itemized with model numbers and manufacturer's cut sheets on all the recommended merchandise. This takes about one or two days and there is never a charge. The other way to do this is for you to visit our offices and sit with our designer as your kitchen is created. This will allow you to view the possibilities and explore all of your different options before making decisions. Colors, door styles, floors, layouts, countertops and appliances can be change and viewed. The computer will provide you with a very accurate rendering of what your future kitchen will look like. Our designers are well trained in the program's operation and the attention to detail is unsurpassed.

Once all of the design and product selection is completed to your satisfaction, the job can proceed. Upon receiving a fifty percent deposit on the cabinets you will be given an estimated delivery date followed by an exact date when the job is confirmed with the factory. We only deal with manufacturers who deliver on time. As the delivery date approaches we will begin to coordinate all the other components which you have ordered from us. Having everything there on time is the most important aspect to customer service.

At the end of the day you will have your new kitchen installed and working.

The Products
Kitchen Cabinets: We sell four different brands of kitchen cabinets three of which are purchased directly from the factory. By eliminating the distributors we are able to offer a lower price and less red tape between the end user and the source. Each of these manufacturers has been carefully selected and meets our standard of customer service, quality and value. Usually we have a cabinet for every budget. These companies are Bertch Cabinet Manufacturing Inc. ( Custom Division only ) , Elm Manufacturing Inc.,

Countertop Surfaces: We offer every type of countertop available and we use the best and most reliable fabricators in the NY area. Most of our clients choose granite or a similar stone. The selection of the actual granite slab is often the most pleasurable part of the job. Just seeing the wide variety and natural beauty of all the different stone has been compared to spending time in a museum. The second most popular choice is Corian or solid surface material. Made by man it has a greater color consistency than stone and can be easily repaired if scratched or damaged. Recently we have seen some of our clients begin to use stainless steel as their top of choice. It is absolutely the easiest to keep clean and sterile. The stainless steel sink can be integrated and welded into the top for a seamless one piece effect. We even have the capability to bring the top up in sections and have the mechanics weld and brush the stainless in place. The old stand-bys of butcher block and Formica are also available.

Appliances: We consider the selection of the appliances the heart of the kitchen sale. Many of our competitors will design a beautiful kitchen and advise their clients to visit an appliance store and make their selections. Often they end up with a mess as the salesman will push a certain manufacturer who offers them a cash incentive that month. Having failed to survey the elevator and the entrances they take no responsibility when the refrigerator fails to fit into the elevator. Our staff feels that it is important to inform our clients of all of the innovations that the modern appliances offer. Professional stoves are rapidly increasing in popularity. What is an infrared broiler and do you need one? Do high power burners always require exterior ventilation? What is a convection oven? We take the time to fit you with the best suited stove for your needs. Trends in refrigeration need to be reviewed. Why a Sub-Zero? Are there alternatives and will they work for you? What is integrated refrigeration and does it have advantages? It sounds very confusing. We will review each appliance and the possible alternatives one by one until you are comfortable with your selections. Your order will be consolidated through a local wholesaler who will make a single professional delivery at a price bound to please.

Plumbing Supplies: Deep discounts are the norm on all our faucets and sinks. We carry almost every brand name known to mankind and offer an objective analysis on each one.
For bathrooms we also offer every brand out there at very competitive pricing.

Hardware: Knobs, pulls, pullout trash bins, door knobs, hinges, bathroom accessories, and more are available. Many major brands such as Baldwin, Jado, Omnia and Cliffside at discounts up to 35% off.

Attitude
Our job consists of more than just designing your kitchen and saving you money, we are always here to help. Any renovation project can be very difficult and frustrating so we know how important it is for you to have someone to talk to. We listen to your concerns and try to help sort them out for you. If you yell at us on Monday we'll still love you on Tuesday.
